Imported files are encrypted independently with AES-256-GCM using key material derived from the unlocked vault key.

Encrypted copies are stored in Ciphiron's private no-backup application storage.

Supported actions include:

• Export a decrypted copy when you explicitly choose to
• Permanently delete protected copies

Temporary decrypted copies used for viewing/export stay in app-private cache and are removed after use.

Backup data is authenticated and encrypted before Android writes the resulting file to the destination you select.

You choose where that backup goes.

If you choose a cloud storage provider through Android's file system, the provider receives the encrypted backup file — not a readable copy of your vault or your Recovery Key.

Ciphiron can also remind you when a backup becomes old and when it may be time to perform another Recovery Drill.
